Returning to the aspirations of Fusanosuke Kuhara, who established the origins of HAPPO-EN in the Meiji period, we have reborn the garden as a space that coexists with nature and continues to grow more beautiful with the passage of time. A new, celebratory space where inside and outside intertwine without barriers, and where people and nature blend softly. We invite you to experience the new HAPPO-EN wedding.

New Open
May 2025. A new freestanding wedding venue has been created, set around the garden season.
"Celebration Hall -The GARDEN-" is a Christian wedding venue that will become the symbol of the new HAPPO-EN wedding. The light pouring in from the large circular opening in the ceiling is reflected by a water basin like a mirror, blessing the couple with various expressions of light. Even though it is located in the city, it is a space where you can feel the light, breeze, and nature and be your true self. It is the place where you both began, and a place you will want to return to someday.
March 1, 2025. The grand opening of HAPPO-EN's first "The Bridal Boutique KOTOHOGI by HAPPO-EN" on Shirokanedai Platinum Street. We select high-quality bridal costumes from Japan and abroad, focusing on rare costumes that can only be encountered here, such as original kimono created from scratch in collaboration with craftsmen from time-honored manufacturers in Kyoto, and the finest imported dresses. This is a dedicated costume room produced by HAPPO-EN for everyone who has a wedding at HAPPO-EN. The name of the store, "KOTOHOGI = Kotohogi (Word Celebration)", which means "blessing by words", expresses the hope that you will come across a special piece of clothing that will be close to you and bless you on that important day. We will do our best to help you from costume selection to wedding day.

Main Lobby
The long-loved HAPPO-EN Main Building has been reborn as a building that gently connects with the garden. Starting with the main lobby, which is connected to the garden, the space has been transformed into one where you can feel the Japanese garden, which has a history of over 400 years, everywhere. The main lobby space blends Japanese culture and craftsmanship, befitting the concept of "condensing the Japanese aesthetic sense," and is imbued with the passion of Japan's leading craftsmen in ink painting and kumiko.
New Banquets
Two wedding reception halls have been completely renovated. Both venues face the Japanese garden, and are filled with traditional Japanese beauty and craftsmanship, with the changing seasons of the garden adding color to the space.
Wood Sound
KIOTO
KIOTO is a venue where natural beauty and traditional beauty coexist, featuring a motif of an inlaid wooden treasure chest. With the gardens of HAPPO-EN spreading out before you, this light-filled venue also includes a private front garden exclusively for venue guests. (Maximum capacity: 102 people)

HAKOU is themed on a moonlit night and expresses the soft, flickering moonlight reflected on the garden pond. The bold and chic space, featuring gold and black as its primary colors, exudes a sophisticated and glamorous atmosphere. (Maximum capacity: 122 people)
