About the shoot
Can I request a specific photographer?
For the snap photo plan, we can accept your request with a nomination fee of 11,000 yen (tax included). If you have a preference for a male or female photographer, or a photographer who has taken your photos before, please let us know when you apply (if you are filling out the application form, please enter this in the "Other" field).
Is it possible to have an outside photographer take the photos?
Outside photographers are not allowed to take photos.
Can I specify the location for the photo shoot?
We will take into consideration the situation on the day, but we will do our best to accommodate your request. We will take into consideration the situation of the wedding and banquet on the day.
If you have a preferred location, please let us know when you apply (if you are using the application form, please enter it in the "Other" field).
Are there any cancellation fees?
Depending on the timing of your cancellation or change request, we will charge a cancellation fee as follows:
Between 7 days and 3 days before the shoot date: 50% of the shoot fee
From 2 days before the shoot date to the day of the shoot: 100% of the shoot fee
*Cancellation fees will also apply if the event is cancelled due to weather conditions.
What payment methods are available?
We ask that you either transfer the payment in advance or pay by card after the photo shoot.
We would like you to decide on your costume at least 2 weeks before the photo shoot, so please come in to try it on before then.
Are there accommodation facilities?
There are no lodging facilities within the park, so we will provide information on nearby accommodation.
About the costumes
Can I try on the costumes?

Can I bring in my own costume?
Yes, you can. There is no charge for bringing your own. If you have a reservation for a kimono dressing session at the beauty salon in Happo-en, please bring your kimono to the beauty salon. For details, please refer to here. For details on necessary items, please refer to here.
If you would like to dress yourself, please send it to the Happoen Cloakroom and pick it up there on the day.
What is included in the costume fee?

Is it possible to go outside Happo-en while wearing the costume?
Yes, that is possible. We can accept returning the item two days after the date of use (two nights and three days), so please contact us in advance to discuss your plans.
Are there any cancellation fees?
Cancellation fees will apply from 90 days prior.

90 to 31 days before the date of use: 20% of the contract amount
30 to 15 days before the date of use: 30% of the contract amount plus actual expenses
14 to 8 days before the date of use: 50% of the contract amount plus actual expenses

How can I make payment?
After your photo is taken, you can pay the total amount by card or cash.
*If you are only renting the costume, we ask that you make a bank transfer in advance.
Is there anywhere I can eat?
There are RESTAURANT ENJYU and Thrush Café in the main building, and restaurant Tokochuan in the annex. If you would like to dine at Tokochuan, we also have a special plan for Shichi-Go-San photo shoot + meal at Tokochuan.
About dressing and hair and makeup
Is there any dress code for the day?
Please wear clothes that can be put on or taken off by opening either the front or the back. If you wear a headwear, it may be difficult to put on or take off after your hair or makeup has been done.
I would like to bring my own costume, but when should I bring it in?

How many days in advance can I book a photo shoot?
Reservations can be made up to one year in advance. However, even if you make a reservation within one year, it may be difficult to accommodate due to facility usage.
Where should I go on the day?
Once the photo shoot has been confirmed, you will be notified of your arrival time. If you have kimono dressing, hair and makeup, please come to the Shiseido Beauty Salon at the designated time. If you are starting from the photo shoot without kimono dressing or hair and makeup, please come to the concierge desk next to the main entrance at the designated time.
Is there a cancellation fee?
Costume rental, snapshot photo shoots, and Thrush Café may incur cancellation fees.
There is no cancellation fee for beauty and commemorative photo shoots, but if you need to make any changes or cancel, please contact us at least one week in advance.

Wedding Photo
About application
I live far away and can't come to the store in advance, but can I still apply for a photo shoot?
You can apply for a photo shoot. We generally ask that you come to the store in advance to try on the clothes, but in the case of traditional Japanese clothing, you may be asked to choose on the day.
Can same-sex couples also apply?
Of course, that is possible. Please contact us if you are interested.
About the costume
I would like to take photos in both Japanese and Western clothing. Is that possible?
Yes, it is possible. Please see the 2style plan.
How many types of costumes are there?
We carry over 50 Japanese kimonos (including white wedding kimonos and colorful uchikake kimonos) and over 30 Western kimonos (including wedding dresses and colored dresses).
Can I bring costumes?
Yes, that is possible. Please contact us if you are interested.
About Hair & Makeup
Is it possible to rehearse hair and makeup in advance?
We offer a hair and makeup rehearsal option. (Hair and makeup rehearsal fee: ¥33,000)
If you would like to rehearse, please do so at least one week before the shoot.
Should I wear hair and makeup on the day of the shoot?
Please come to the studio without makeup on the day of the photo shoot. Our hair and makeup staff will take care of everything for you.
About the shoot
What will happen to the shooting location if it rains?
In the event of rain, photos will be taken at a popular spot within the museum.

Can I have my photo taken while I'm pregnant?
Yes, it is possible. There are many pregnant women who have had their photos taken, so please rest assured.
I would like to take a photo with my family. Is that possible?
There is no problem. Please come with your family. However, depending on the number of people, there may be an additional charge due to the amount of time spent moving around.
Meals
Is there somewhere we can have a meal together as a family after filming?
There is Thrush Café in the main building, and a Japanese restaurant, kochuan, in the annex. Please see the individual store pages for details of each store and how to make reservations.
We also have plans that include dinner at Kochuan, so please feel free to inquire.

You can pay by card on the day or by bank transfer in advance.

About the progress on the day and the venue tour
Is there parking available?
Yes. We have a parking lot that can accommodate up to 120 cars. Parking is free.
Will there be time for both families to greet each other before the meal?
Yes, we do.
We will have a moment to greet you before the toast, so please let us know if you have any requests. We will also take care of seating arrangements, such as upper and lower seats, so please rest assured.
I would like to bring my family profile book. Is that possible?
Yes, it is possible.
If you arrive about 15 minutes earlier than your reservation time, we will show you to your room before your scheduled time. Please have the profile book you brought with you ready at your seat. If you contact us in advance, we can prepare it at your seat, so please feel free to ask.
I would like to show my parents the wedding ceremony venue and reception venue. Is that possible?
It depends on the wedding situation on the day, but please note that there may be cases where you cannot view the venue.
I have allergies, can you accommodate?
We can also accommodate allergies. Please contact us in advance.
About preparation on the day
Can I have my clothes put on and my hair and makeup done?
Yes, we offer kimono dressing and hair and makeup services at Shiseido Beauty Salon in Happo-en. If you let us know the number of people and their names, we will let you know the dressing time in advance. We also rent furisode, so please feel free to contact us.
Can I use the changing rooms even if I haven't requested help with dressing?
Even if you are not receiving a dressing request, you can use the men's and women's changing rooms all day. If you speak to a staff member on the day, we will guide you to the changing rooms.
Preparing for betrothal gifts and souvenirs
Can you arrange for wedding gifts?
Kochuan can arrange Kanto-style betrothal gifts. Please contact us for more information.
I would like to buy some souvenirs. Can Happoen prepare them for me?
We have chocolates and chocolate gateau from Happo-en's original brand "kiki." If you contact us in advance, we can prepare them for your seat, so please feel free to contact us.

Regarding photography
Can I take photos in the garden?
You are free to view the gardens, so please feel free to take photos with your mobile phone. Happo-en also accepts studio and snapshot photography, so please contact us for more information. Please note that we do not allow photographers to bring their own cameras. Thank you for your understanding.
Meals
There are some ingredients I can't eat. Can you accommodate this on the menu?
Yes, we can accommodate your request. Please let us know the details of the ingredients and the cooking method you would like at least one week before your reservation.
Family wedding
How many people are required for a small wedding ceremony?
Available for two or more couples. We also have a venue for smaller groups. We also have plans for just the wedding ceremony and photo shoot, so we will arrange it according to your wishes.
How many months in advance do I need to apply in order to be prepared?
It depends on the content, but it can be prepared in as little as one month. Please rest assured that our producer will be there to support you and your partner.
Won't the venue end up being too large?
At Happoen, we also have venues for small groups, such as a traditional Japanese restaurant and a venue with an open kitchen. We will also work with you to decide on the layout according to your desired number of people, so please rest assured.
I can't picture myself having a family-only wedding.
A small wedding with only family and close friends creates a very peaceful atmosphere. There are many ways to enjoy the meal, such as having the bride and groom eat together, chatting with each family member, taking commemorative photos, or introducing the family members to each other and receiving their comments. The producer in charge will listen to the couple's wishes and concerns and propose the contents of the day.

The cost will vary depending on the date you choose and the content you choose. First, please come to our bridal fair and consult with us. We also offer online consultations, so please feel free to contact us.

Can you arrange for luggage delivery?
We offer courier delivery (fees apply) for luggage delivery. Please contact the cloakroom in the main building. If you would like to send your luggage in advance, please send it to the address below.

Are there any cafes or restaurants?
Thrush Café, located in the main lobby, offers cafe and dining options while looking out at the gardens that change color with the seasons. It is also recommended as a meeting place for wedding ceremonies.

At the "kiki shop" in the main building lobby, we sell Happo-en signature sweets as souvenirs, including gift envelopes.

Is there a family waiting room?
We have a waiting room for family members on the 4th floor of the main building. The location of the waiting room for guests other than family members varies depending on the venue, so please refer to your invitation for more information.
Can I bring in food and drinks?
We apologize for the inconvenience. For hygiene reasons, we ask that you refrain from bringing in food and drinks.
Can you arrange a taxi?
There is a taxi stand at the main entrance. Our staff will be happy to arrange a taxi for you.
Banquets, Meetings, Online broadcasts

It is a 1-minute walk from the nearest station, Shirokanedai Station (Tokyo Metro Namboku Line, Toei Mita Line). For an estimate of the time required by taxi from major stations in Tokyo, please see here. We can also arrange buses, so please feel free to contact us.
What kind of food options are available?
We can propose a food style that matches the overall purpose and needs of your banquet or event, and also provide individual allergen-free menus, menus that are considerate of religious reasons, and vegans and vegetarians. We also offer a performance cooking option where the chef prepares the food right in front of your guests. First, let us know your preferences.
